about

Fragments consists of 20 movements for solo piano (one featuring a bowl in C) ranging in length from one to three and a half minutes. The composition was a child of necessity, born out of restrictions placed on streaming music during the times of COVID-19. The pieces were originally intended for use during church services as music for centering, meditation, or as the postlude...but as a complete collection, they start taking on a whole new shape. The pieces were composed between May of 2020 and January of 2021 and reflect the varying moods experienced throughout the course of the pandemic. These pieces are vulnerable but strong, occasionally playful, and equal parts optimistic and reserved.
